Over 3,000 customers without power on Hawaii Island

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Over 3,000 customers on Hawaii Island are without power due to an outage Saturday afternoon, HECO officials said.

HECO officials posted an update on X at 12:40 p.m. and specified that this outage is not a public safety or PSPS power outage.

Officials said 3,002 customers are without power from Psyck Road. to the Na Makani Paio Park area.

HECO says first responders are on their way.

There is no information yet on what led up to the outage.
