St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation unveils East End Community Outpost initiative during Rotary meeting

(KNSI) – Organizers behind a second outpost coming to St. Cloud’s east side will explain their roles to a local community group.

Greater St. The Cloud Public Safety Foundation will announce the East
End the Community OutPost initiative at St. Cloud Rotary meeting on Tuesday.

The event will take place at noon Tuesday at the outpost’s future home inside Salem Lutheran Church. The foundation will hold a panel discussion for those present. Speakers include representatives from CentraCare/St. Cloud Hospital, College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University and St. Cloud Police Department.

The program’s early focus will be to establish a nurse-led health clinic to treat patients, provide educational opportunities for graduate students and undergraduates, and offer free care to underserved populations in and around St. Cloud area.

Together with the clinic, St. Cloud Police Department’s Community Crisis Intervention Team to use the space to provide mental health services, response and outreach.

The clinic will initially be open one day a week, with the goal of fully opening the facility sometime in the first quarter of 2025. After a lease is signed, Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation on the commencement of the renovation of the Education Wing.
