Events and festivals

Scotland’s vibrant summer festival scene ranges from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to the Highland Games, which showcase traditional sport, music and dance.

Top marketing activity

The music festival HebCelt 24 was showcased on Instagram and TikTok. Taylor Swift’s visit to Edinburgh did not go unnoticed on these channels either.

Our monthly What’s On Facebook and Instagram stories featured great events happening around Scotland each month.

The Highland Games in Luss was shown on TikTok with a roll of marching pipes.

Pages covering what’s on and events in our cities were updated and optimized for search engines. We did the same for events in Dumfries & Galloway, The Scottish Borders and the Orkney Islands.

Our ‘Get Set For Summer Getaways’ email included day trips and information about the Edinburgh Festivals. It also had segmented content for tours, aimed at the UK market.

Visitors want to go on great days, explore nature and escape to off-the-beaten track destinations.

Top marketing activity

@thechaoticscot took us on a car-free trip to the Isle of Arran. We showcased some incredible cycling destinations to celebrate World Cycling Day.

More exciting activities in the Galloway & Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere were composed. Read about cool things to do in the Biosphere at visitscotland.com.

Instagram, YouTube and TikTok showcased the Bunabhainneadar tennis court on the Isle of Harris. This was timed for Wimbledon, leading to increased interest in the sporting event.
