The Auburn Police Department hosted the 2024 Axon Roadshow on Thursday, offering law enforcement officers from Cayuga County and beyond a hands-on experience with the latest public safety technology.

The event, held in the department’s parking lot, featured demonstrations of new body cameras, drones and a Taser simulator that allowed officers to practice in realistic scenarios, such as a traffic stop involving a wanted suspect.

Auburn police officer Nate Barnes highlighted the value of the simulation, noting that it increases police confidence and preparedness. The event, which was also open to the public, provided a unique opportunity for community members to see the equipment first hand and understand the technology used by local law enforcement agencies.
