Anyone can pick up and play Wordle, but if you want to do well and make all your guesses count, these quick tips will help you get started on your Wordle winning streak:

Choose an opener with a balanced mix of unique vowels and consonants.
The answer may contain the same letter, several times.
Try not to use guesses that contain letters that you have already eliminated.

Thankfully, there’s no time limit beyond making sure it’s done by midnight. So there’s no reason not to treat the game like a casual newspaper crossword and come back to it later if you’re blank. Sometimes taking a break means you can come back with a new perspective.

Wordle gives you six rows of five squares each day, and you have to figure out what secret five-letter word is hidden in them to continue your winning streak.

You should start with a strong word like ARISE, or any other word that contains a good mix of regular consonants and multiple vowels. You also want to avoid starting words with repeated letters, as you waste the chance to possibly eliminate or confirm an extra letter. When you press Enter, you will see which ones you got right or wrong. If a square turns , it means that the letter is not in the secret word at all. means that the letter is in the word, but not in that position. means you have the right letter in the right place.

You want your next guess to compliment the first, using another “good” word to cover any common letters you might have missed last time while trying to avoid any letters you now know for a fact not in today’s answer. After that, it’s simply a matter of using what you’ve learned to narrow down your guesses to the correct words. You have six attempts in total and can only use real words and don’t forget that letters can also be repeated (eg BOOKS).
