Olivia Munn remembers her former costar Erica Ash.

On Monday, July 29, the actress, 44, who starred alongside Ash in the 2021 film. Violethailed the late star who followed her dead at age 46.

“So sad to hear of the passing of Erica Ash after a long battle with cancer,” Munn wrote over a clip on her Instagram Stories of Ash playing the role of Lila alongside Munn’s Violet in Violet.

She continued, “We worked together on the film Violet which came out in 2021. She was a brilliant actor who brought so much to every moment.”

“Rest in love,” Munn added along with a dove and love heart emoji.

The X-Men: Apocalypse star — who has documented his journey with cancer after she was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in April 2023 — then added in another clip on her Instagram Stories, “…f– cancer.”

A representative for Ash did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Earlier Monday, BET announced the actress’ death in a statement Instagram.

“Today, #BETrinns actress and comedian Erica Ash who has passed away at the age of 46,” the post read. “Known to be equal parts witty and funny, Erica starred in BET favorites like legal dramas In contempt and reality poof Real Husbands of Hollywood.”

“We send our deepest condolences and love to her parents, siblings, friends and family,” the statement continued, along with photos and videos of Ash. “Fly high Queen .”

Apart from Munn, many other stars have paid tribute to Ash, also known for MADtv and Survivor’s remorseafter her death.

Loni Love shared an emotional tribute to Ash on Instagram with pictures of the couple over the years.

“I am saddened to confirm the passing of my friend and actress Erica Ash… Erica was talented and funny whether it was the show Survivor’s remorse or Food TV she would put everything into her work,” she wrote.

Love added, “She would always just be there.. now she’s gone.. My sincere condolences to her family and fans .”

Niecy Nash Betts also paid tribute to her by rewriting the last text she received from Ash before her death.

“Well done sweet girl @theericaash” she wrote next to a photo of the couple. “Your last text to me was ‘I’m going to make you mine #wcwThen we had a good keke. You will be missed! Thanks for all the laughs! I send my deepest condolences to your family and loved ones .”
